I have had the pleasure of knowing Mr Skene since I was nineteen years old, and that was quite a while ago now. Being of a similar background, Aberdonian, and sharing the same surname, Skene, I have always looked upon this kind and loving man as my relative. He gave me a precious gift, his daughter Liz, who is my very dear friend and brings much joy to my life with her vivacious personality like her dad and pretty face like her mum. Thanks Ian for always making me feel special. My husband Luke, me and our kids, John and Becky will miss you,Mr Skene. xxx

A remarkable man and a very good friend - always. I first met Ian and Catrina when Elizabeth was a baby and learning to walk around the coffee table. Ian was always happy and had lots of stories to tell. He will be missed by all.

Ian a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather and Best Mate. He pursued life with an optimistic belief that the glass was always half full (preferably with a treasured Malt Whiskey) Our friendship began when filming a car commercial in London at that time my Australian accent was broad to his ears and Ian's Scottish accent was equally broad. At times we paused during the filming because neither of us could understand what each was saying, we would agree to speak more slowly and so began an enduring friendship of respect and love... RIP Michael

I don't think I ever met a man who enjoyed life so much. Devoted to his wife and family. Never without a smile or a good word to say.

Fond memories of Ian in his young days. He was a larger-than-life figure and always visited us and our late parents - Syd and Sarah - when he was in Aberdeen. So sorry to hear that he has gone.
