I was very lucky to meet Kate 5 years or so ago,through my work as a massage therapist in Avalon. I treated her for Lymphatic Massage, however i believe i recieved a lot more from her visits. She was such an interesting character. We spent a lot of time disscussing current affairs and events, books, theatre and art. She always showed a very keen interest in all our staff , making sure they were well. I was always humbled with her generosity of time and good thoughts for others. I worked with Kate in 1974-1975 at the Sydney Morning Herald Library. I recall her extreme courtesy and kindness and knowledge of current affairs. She was a pleasure to work with.
