Les Kossatz was my art teacher in 1966 at Ringwood High School. We had a small group and we ALL loved him. We visited his studio at his invitation, as a group, and I remember huge images of armchairs with actual hands. He had started on his medal theme and told us all about his reasons for why he painted what he did. We loved him for his enthusiasm and encouragement, his energy and humour and his passion for his art. He was like no other teacher I had at school. He did too young..

Mr.Kossatz was my art teacher when I was 14. Something about him touched my heart and I developed a huge "crush" on him, so much so that I would almost swoon when he passed me in the corridoor. He has often come to mind over the past 45 years and I'd sometimes thought of contacting him. It was obvious even then that he was a thoughtful and sensitive man.
