I have only gotten to know the Dunham family through my support and involvement with Barack's campaign. I was one of the many, along with my wife, who combed through newspapers and on the internet for all the information and photos we could find try to learn about your grandson and how he was raised. We were so happy to see you and hear your story through Barack. You are truly special and I believe you may have played a part in saving our country and many lives of people around the world. You have been a catalyst for "Change" and the cultivator of "Hope" and I will forever be inspired by you, your family and your stories. God bless you and your family Sincerely, The entire Narvaez Family Tree

i know what you and your family have been through.... my family has been through the same thing. its hard sometimes to be rejected by every race because your family does not quite fit. I hate that do did not get to see your grandson make it to the white house... but i am happy that i got to see it, for once my family fit somewere. thank you for raising him to be a good man, not a white man or a black man, just a good man! who would have thought that you just played a big part in changing the world. :*)

I am deeply saddened to hear of the loss of your Grandmother. Grant O Lord Thy shelter of comfort for the loss of this great love one. Give strength to this family, for we all know Thou art a merciful and loving God. May there be abundant peace from Heaven for your family.

The Dunhams helped raise Obama in Hawaii while he went to school from the age of 10 until he left in his late teens. Madelyn helped nurse Obama's mother, Ann, while she was dying from cancer back in Hawaii. Stanley Dunham is buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.
