We met Marilyn and Charlie at the North side Eagles, dancing to Beauty & The Beast. How she could laugh and tell stories! We loved to hear about her travels with Charlie, especially the annual "Testy Festy" in Montana. She'd get up and dance those fast songs with us, but the slow songs were always for her Charlie. She told us how proud she was of her daughter, Sheila, and her son, Ran. We will always keep the memories: Forever smiling, Forever laughing, Forever Marilyn!

On June 18th I did a 30 mile bike ride in honor of Marilyn. With donations of family and friends I was able to give to the ALS Foundation in honor of her.

Marilyn was a first cousin of my Fathers. He passed away in October of 1990. I'm not sure the exact year ( I believe it was approx 2005 ) on one of her Michigan trips to visit family I was blessed to receive a visit from Marilyn & Janice. His only cousins on his Mother's side. We spent a couple hours sharing memories of the past and looking back into the family history. I loved every minute of it :) It was very obvious that she was an intelligent woman and there was something about a free spirit within her that I could truly admire. I am very sorry for the loss of your Mother! I will cherish the memory of the Summer visit I had with her. I'm so thankful I did. I'm very sentimental and those few hours are and were as precious as silver & gold to me. She had asked for me to pass along the information I have in a family tree ( to which is quite extensive ). I will see if I can't get this together and passed along to both of you Ran & Sheila. May GOD bless & comfort you at this time. With my deepest sympathy Laura Iler Gibbs

Back in 2006 when I had recently graduated from college, but had lost my job, my girlfriend, and was living at home again, you inspired me to "GO WEST!" in my job search, which led me to my girlfriend (Yen) of 2 years now, to a great job, and to graduate school, which provided me with an opportunity to travel to Brazil....all because I decided to "GO WEST!". I will never forget your positive energy and support when I needed it most....THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! Isaac

I can't put over 40 years of stories and love into one paragraph or even one page. A few things on my mind today: I'm grateful to have a loving, patient, kind, generous, FUN and CRAZY mom. Not only was she the best mom to have as a kid growing up, but she's been a regular and adventurous traveling companion for me as an adult. She and Charlie have jumped on a moment's notice to go far and wide with me and Sean--Jamaica, Cozumel Mexico, La Paz Mexico, Hawaii, and more. As you all know, she's always open minded about new things, whether it was Black Jazz clubs in the 60s, Boy George in the 80s or the Bare Buns Fun Run in the 00s! Now she's breaking new territory in the ALS community with her living wake and laughter.

I remember so fondly the times in high school when I would walk home with Marilyn at lunch. She would go in her house, where her Mom had lunch waiting and I would go to Bentley's Ice Cream Store next door, eat my sack lunch and buy a fudgcicle. Then I would go over to Marilyn's and sit on the floor furnace and eat my fudgcicle until she was done and back to school we'd go! She was always so happy and positive, and from reading these postings, I can see that she is still the same!

My most fond memory of Marilyn was when my wife (Dawn) and I were in Seattle and I was undergoing radiation therapy for cancer. We had dinner with Marilyn (who was in Seattle for testing) and Charlie... and celebrated the moment in which both of our lives were being threatened by deadly disease. I being a strong believer in God, shared with Marilyn that irregardless of our current bouts with these awful diseases... the loving friendship that has been cultivated over many years between Dawn and I, with Marilyn and Charlie is of the FOREVER variety. And that no matter what happened in our future here on Earth, we shall FOREVER celebrate the friendship of this moment... in the life to come in CHRIST. Marilyn and Charlie are of the finest people we have ever met. And it is desire of our hearts that both should know that they are loved and cherished by Dawn and I, who are thankful to have had opportunity to know them in this life. Peace forever. And this sweet and giant of a human being shall always remain in our hearts, forever... Dawn & Bill Latronica

All the times that I spent the night at U.Bill and A. Mary's house with you and Janice and Pam babysitting me. What wonderful memories those were along with the movies you used to take me too, when you lived in Lansing off Saginaw Street when you were working and going to college. I remember your parakeet but can't think what his name was. I also remember you were the first person to draw blood out of my arm in Eaton Rapids, and I didn't cry! Also scooting around the lab on the stool with the wheels on. So many memories you will alway's be Aunt Marilyn to me Thank You Master Jim

I think the one thing that comes to mind immediately when I think of my dear friend, Marilyn, is her smile and her laugh. She has such a positive outlook on life and I have rarely seen her without that beautiful smile on her face. A beautiful lady, a beautiful spirit.
