I remember back to primary scool days from yr 2 - 4, all the fancy dress parties, school events and the fun loving boy in class. I also saw him again last year at Telethon. I was always so taken with Mark's natural style of acting _ the warmth in which he imbued his character of Dan on All Saints. Sometimes, talent comes from a dark place, juggling frenetically with the light. The dark and light in us all makes us the unique people we are but sometimes we can't keep all the balls in the air and the darker place takes over. I know because I have suffered from severe depression and anxiety for many years and I know that this poor young man's decision would not have been made in haste. It takes a world of pain to get to that level and I can only hope he has found the peace he never had in life. My thoughts are of course, with his family, friends and cast and crew but also to all his fans and to all the people dealing with mental health issues. I was horrified to hear about your sudden death Mark - after watching such a beautiful wedding on all saints the night , waking up the next day to hear the early morning news that you had passed away.... I have only recently started watching "All Saints" and found his character to be the most appealling. I was so shocked too hear he had takin his own life. We tend to look at our actors as the parts they play, and forget they have lives of their own. We watch these type of soapies to lose our own problems and often even want to be the actors playing the roles but forget that being in the lime light can be more stressful than we will know, he played his character so well and made you believe he was "Dan' and is proberly easy to lose yourself in that role as an actor. I will always remember him as "Dan" but know he is Mark and has a family that loves him and will miss him very much. Athough all saints will never be the same it will never be the same for his family and my thoughts are with you. Jo

I was horrified to hear about Mark's death on The Morning Show after waking up this morning... To some extent I can understand why Mark chose the path he did and how he was feeling... I've suffered from depression and suicidal thoughts myself, and I guess if there's anything good at all to try and bring out of Mark's death it's that maybe he will show people that it's OK to ask for help and not to be ashamed... I feel as if I've learnt to appreciate that I got help and have gotten a second chance at life... But no lessons will undo such a horrific tragedy... What a shock to here another beautiful Australian actor taken...Depression is the most silent disease ever....6 months today my best friends took his own life,and no-one even new he was depressed,the result is horrible and painful for everyone around..and the shock just never goes away!! As an avid fan and supporter of All Saints, I am devastated that Mark is gone. My heart grieves for his family, who have lost a beautiful person and gentle soul. I am just so sad and sorry that nobody could reach that soul to keep him here a little longer.
