dear papa max, ...where to start... you did not talk very much but what you said was mostly right, honest and funny - I just say ALMDUDLER SONG...you gave hannes and me a second home and we thank you very very much for that. We enjoyed every minute with you and think of you a lot - we're glad that you came to visit us in Austria - what a wonderful time we had - drinking at the Heurigen in vienna while we were listening to this strange opera music the woman sang (that was so funny), climbing up the mountains at the Almwandertag, visiting Südtirol - your place of birth - having BBQ in the backyard, jumping into the pool while making a picture...I am very proud that you asked for my Brennsuppe when you were at the hospital...I put all my love into that - Hannes and I we are thinking of you a lot and it was just a few days ago, when hannes was looking for a bbq in the internet - he was refering to you when I was arguing about the prices and sizes...hannes said: "Papa Max would agree with me...cause he knows how to bbq...and that's it...you were a wonderful person and a great cook - I miss the garlic prawns so much... please say hello to my mum and robby dear max love always your son hannes and moana

... don't know where to start ... and end ... ... remembering the first time we met in Sydney, the first time you told me over the fence to hop over, heaps of good laughs together, our first Weißer Spritzer, long nights at the Pixner-table and at the Pixner-backyard, our talk when I was calling from Byron Bay ready to move up the East Coast, our evening at the Heurigen in Vienna and our night at Hannes and Daniela's place in Mödling, your farewell ... warm and peaceful times!!! Love all the time!

My Papa was always honest, had integrity, was proud and protective of his family, worked hard to provide a beautiful home and life for us all and had a really interesting life. He could cook anything, had an eye for quality, could fix anything, spoke 3 languages, lived in 3 Australian states, could ride a motorbike, taught me how to swim and ride my bike. He love all things Australian - beer, the summer, the beach, seafood, the people. He loved Campise shopping centre, drinking coffee, eating ice cream and watching a current affair. He was proud to teach us his special dishes to cook and always watched over us in the kitchen. He loved his Mum and had fond memories of his home to share with us all. He loved his garden, his BBQ, his pool, his home - his sanctuary. He was more than the 'avergare Joe' and held a high sense of dignity right to the end. He had incredible strength and courage. He was and still is the strongest person I ever knew.
