I read this article just today, and my heart goes out to the family and friends of this talented young man. May God continue to keep you strong. As long as you remember his memories he will forever live. God Bless
It was my great pleasure to be Michael's "father" when he was in La Crosse pitching for the La Crosse Loggers during the summer of 2006. My wife and I have been Logger "parents" for two players for the past four years. If there was ever a player that epitomized the concept of being a southern gentleman, it would be Michael. One case in point was his concern for my when I had an emergency appendectomy. He continued to be concerned as during the following weeks, as I recovered at home. It was nice to have him here, effectively taking the place of my own son who was on active duty in Baghdad. I shed a tear the day the season ended and Michael said good bye, and I shed a tear upon receiving this news. I am thankful to Mark and Vicky for sharing their son and time with MIchael with me and my family. May they fell comforted by Michael's Christian faith. I look forward to watching Michael pitch again in heaven.
I am so sorry that you have left us so early, especially for your family and friends who knew you and love you.
