I have very fond memories of "Nan". as we called her. She was the closest of friends to my mother Gwen Smith and together they spent many happy days in each others company in their beloved Sydney. As Gwen's daughter I often had the pleasure of accompanying them both to movies and cups of coffee and really came to appreciate and admire Nan. She was a very vibrant women, warm, intelligent, deep, independent and a wonderful friend to have. She dressed immaculately and stylishly and one sensed that she had always been a "career woman". One could discuss anything with Nan from politics to religion, the state of the economy and local events in her beloved Eastern Suburbs. Our family would like to say...it was wonderful knowing you Nan. Thankyou for being a great and loyal friend to our mother and for giving us such nice memories of Elizabeth Bay
