The Brother Howard of yesteryear, and then the ordained friar Fr Peter, was a remarkable person with whom I spent a few years during my short period in the Franciscan order (1964-1967). Always a sobering influence on the rest of the brothers with what appeared to be a modicum of worldly wisdom and definitely portraying a calm and unflappable personality - he was much respected by all his juniors and possibly a challenge for some of his seniors. Rest in peace, Peter.

Fr Peter was a great mate of my fathers, we all remember him with friendship and affection. He celebrated Dad's Requiem Mass at St. Aloysius College Milsons Point in 1992. He was, for our family, at the time, a great voice of calm and warm reason at a challenging time. Our gratitude to you Peter, released from this life you will be greatly missed.
