i knew ralph at melbourne university in the 70s and our paths crossed many times after that. i recall feeling proud at his election to fitzroy council as an openly gay man, and always delighted in his company. we were born in the same year and from time to time talked about having a joint 50th birthday party. now i regret so much that we didnt carry through on that. i recall his work for and championship of the fringe festival, and his passion for the arts. i have learnt from ralph's too early demise, to live life to the fullest at all times. so long sweet ( and occasionally tart) ralph!
