Randy's headstrong, can-do, focused, rulebreaking, optimism in his vignettes is inspiration for me, has made me conscious of the many limiting mental tapes I have been playing--and embrace those of creativity. He's given me a fresh and positive approach to the word defiance! And a new meaning to "turn from darkness to light! I do have but one life to live, and it needn't be obscured by conventional rules--an empowering legacy to be loving, spirited--demanding at times, but encouraging! In this Advent season, "be not afraid" comes to mind! Thanks Randy!

I just discovered The Last Lecture. Randy will never die as long as he can touch people's lives the way he has touched mine. He has inspired me in ways that I can't even begin to relay in an email. How awesome it must have been to be a student under his God given talent to challenge people beyond the limits they set for themselves. Thanks to you and your children for sharing his last teaching assignment with the world.

I am almost embaressed to say I had never heard of (or didn't recall) having heard of Randy Pausch. One day my son's football coach told my wife that the coaches were going to give our son an award, the "Randy Pausch award". It was then that I read up on Randy. Just like everyone else, I was amazed, moved and inspired. I hope my son takes and uses some of Randy's words, thoughts and teachings on his own journey through life. I know I will. Randy, many thanks. Michael Zunno

I listened to Randy's "Last Lecture" CD. I learned a lesson on "GRATITUDE" in the face of diversity. I believe Randy Pausch was an honest and very courageous man. He remains an inspiration and role model to all he touched. As to the nature of Connectedness of all mankind, I believe he will continue impacting and touching people's live today and always. God Bless his soul and God Bless his brave loving family. May they come to know how greatly they all have effected the world and may they always be cradled with love in the hands of God. If they follow in Randy's footsteps and continue to "love" than they will continually be blessed with love in return.

I am a 61 year old retired military officer. I served two combat tours in Vietnam. I faced death daily. I have always to this day wonder why I am here. Randy's incredible book has touched me like no other. I am not a crying type of guy. I can't stop crying. I just finished the book. The last segment hit me hard. I will give this book to my son. A senior in college. I hope he can aspire to be a Randy in his own way. Touching others in a way that impacts them all their lives. God bless his family .

I FELL IN 'LOVE' WITH RANDY PAUSCH AFTER GETTING HIS DVD. WHEN I DIDN'T READ ANYMORE ON HIM I PANICKED. THE DAY HE PASSED AWAY (BEFORE I KNEW IT) SOMETHING CAME OVER ME THAT HE WAS GONE. HOW I MISS READING ABOUT HIM & HOW JAI & HIS THREE BABIES WERE BLESSED TO HAVE HIM. JAI, THANK YOU FOR SHARING HIM WITH ALL OF US. IF WE COULD ALL BE TIGGERS WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD THIS WOULD BE. MY LOVE & PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU.

After having seen the "Last Lecture" online, I became a big time Randy Pausch fan. Having read the book numerous times, I now give it as a gift to those friends and loved ones I cherish in life. He was so much more than an inspiration to millions, he was who everyone wishes could be their husband, father and friend. My sympathies to Jai and the children, living without someone so special will be very hard. Thankfully, Jai seems to live by Randy's dreams as well. My sincere best wishes for peace for all of them. Thank you Randy for bringing such meaning to life and dignity to death.

To the family and friends of Randy, I pray your hearts are filled with the knowledge of the love that he had for you all. I listened to the audio book of "The Last Lecture", and was so moved. I lost my 44 year old brother last year to stomach cancer. I found so much strength in Randy's book. I hope that I will continue to allow God to change me from the inside out with the inspirational words that Randy shared. I pray for your comfort and peace. L.Harris

My name is Anna. Rany Pausch has inspired me to live life the way God had intended. He has inspired me to allow my Children to be just that..........Children. It's okay to write on the walls. It's okay to spill a drink in the car. It's okay to be "a Kid." We only have one life.........a life that is meant to be lived to the fullest, as did RANDY PAUSCH. God Bless you and your Family.

I have watched hopefully almost every video on Randy Pausch. I am doing a research paper on him, and everytime I see him on Youtube, I get upset. The man that has inspired millions is not alive anymore, and I am watching the videos he left for his children. In a way, I feel like I am invading his childrens privacy by doing this, because when he talks about them, he shows such love and I know that it isn't a time for me, even so, i keep watching, because it doesn't feel like he's past way the more I watch him. It feels like I can call him up, or write to him and ask for help in writing his life and accomplishments on paper. To praise him for showing so many eyes what was in front of them. I wish his family well, and I hope that when his children become older and understand, they will be immensly proud of their father.

Thankyou Randy. I, along like so many others, saw Randy's speech "the Last Lecture" on Oprah this morning. What a truly amazing, inspiring and special man. My heart goes out to his three children & wife. You were blessed to have such a wonderful man in your life. Here's hoping you get the chance to fulfill your childhood dream of playing football now. What an AMAZING MAN! I wish more people in the world could hear his speech and understand his beliefs. The world would be a much better place. I know his children will grow up knowing they had such a great father, how can they not? The whole world should hear his speech, and I will definitely be telling everyone I know, and even people I randomly meet, about his message to the world and the amazing gift he has given so many people. Love, Light and Peace. xoxoxo Much Love, jamie marie thejbaby@hotmail.com

I recently moved to NYC to pursue my childhood dream of a singing/acting career. My mother and father handed me "The Last Lecture" book as I boarded the train and said goodbye. May God bless your family and friends in the time ahead. The book was truly inspirational and has boosted my confidence at overcoming those "brick walls" I face. Thank You for your story and the strength to share it with others.

My name is Ann Estes and I live in California. Listening to Randy Pausch's Last Lecture cut straight to my heart. His sincerity, gentle humor, and marvelous intelligence were crowned by joyful exuberance in each moment of living. At a low point of my life, he inspired me to dig deep to find delight and fun, and it's radically altered my attitude, and changed my life. I will always be grateful. It's amazing and wonderful that one life well lived can radiate out to so many others.

I was very moved watching his story on the Oprah Winfrey show yesterday (30th Sept). I had heard of Randy earlier in the year when news of his last lecture spread around the world. He faced his death with immense dignity, and I'm sure he is an immeasurable loss to his family. What a wonderful man! May he rest in peace, and may God grant his family the strength and love to help them through these very difficult months.

To the family and friends of Randy, I send you my deepest sympathies. I too watched the show in Ireland yesterday and it touched my heart to see such a courageous, amazing man as Randy. I started my day today wtih one thought; "They are just things". My God how I've opened my eyes to the concept of how "immaterial, material things are". I thank my angels for giving me the chance to watch Randy on Oprah and see it as a true gift from them. Warmest regards to you all, Fiona.

I read your book earlier this summer and found it to be very poignant and inspiring. You renewed hope for us that dreams can come true and that we only have one chance to make those dreams a reality. I have always wanted to learn Spanish and soon I will be on my way to Argentina to pursue that goal. Thank you for giving Americans hope for the future, for our own future, and for the future of our children. May God bless your family during this difficult time. Our prayers are with you!

Gian Paolo Scaramelli e Borsi Laura Modena Italia

Carnegie Mellon Professor Randy Pausch (Oct. 23, 1960 - July 25, 2008) gave his last lecture at the university Sept. 18, 2007, before a packed McConomy Auditorium. In his moving presentation, "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams," Pausch talked about his lessons learned and gave advice to students on how to achieve their own career and personal goals. Although i never had him as a teacher he seems like someone i would of loved having as a teacher he probibly would have been one of my favorites and possibly the most influential person in my life. For the reason that his lectures have everything they should have a good mixture of energy, audience attention, profinciency, and well put together.
