Rod took Paige and I camping in the High Country of Vic. He loved mine and Paige's reaction to the beauty of our surroundings. Rod seemed to thrive doing family activities, I loved his dedication to our family life.

Missing you today. Sitting up alone, our daughter is in bed asleep, I hide my tears for the thought of your smile, your laugh, big blue eyes and comforting arms never around me again, make me ache. Life is so unfair. There has not been much peace in this world without you. I love you and always will Ruth XXXXXXXXXXXXX

Over 2 years has passed since Rod suddenly left us. Paige and I have suffered terribly in his absence, missing the laughter, the warmth, love and importantly the future. Words can never capture the essence of who someone was, and how loved, respected, and treasured Rod was to not only us. Life has never been the same. We can smile, but it's not really smiling, we can laugh, but the belly laughs are few and far between. Death impacts us in ways that can never be fully understood, and affects everyone differently. Rod was deeply loved, and we lived each day as if it were our last. I feel comforted by the fact that Paige and I enjoyed a beautiful warm and loving family life with Rod. Not perfect, but compared to others, we knew how good we were together. Rod for the first time in his life, made a decision to stand by his wife and child, and excluded family that were always causing him harm. I will love and respect him forever for keeping trouble from our door. Strength is a man is neither how many weights you can lift, nor is it bending your own ethics to suit others evil intentions. Rod stayed true to the things that meant the most in his life. Those that caused that pain to Rod for years will forever be condemned to never really knowing how much their actions could have caused his stroke. Stress is a killer, and these evil women knew how much pressure they caused to him....... I will always hold them responsible for losing Rod. But they can never rob the beautiful memories we have of Rod, and here is where Paige and I can start to heal, and move forward in our lives with all the love and strengths that Rod gave us! He lives through us, and will love and protect us until we reunite in heaven.
