I remember our trip to vegas together, I remember you were my co pilot lol I was so scared to fly. Our first night there you won the big bucks and we went to my dads wedding the next day. I am going to miss you so much, I know you were calling me for awhile to hang out and we just never found the time I am so sorry about that. I will remember you forever

Yesterday was your birthday and although it was a tough day for me I realized how much of an impact you left on your nephew. We went to the cemetery to bring you flowers for your birthday. Since it was a windy day Travis and I went to the trunk to get something sturdier to hold your flowers down. Carson was sitting in the car because he was freezing. While Travis and I were going through the trunk we look over and Blake is sitting next to your grave with his hands in the praying position. We didn't want to disturb him but as I stood there and watched him I realized how much he loves you, how much he misses you and that he does talk to you. It brought tears to our eyes but it also brought joy to our hearts to know that Blake will forever cherish the time he had with you. He may be young but he understands life and death. He remembers all the wonderful things you did for him and all the wonderful things you did together. Thank you for loving my boys so much. You may be gone but Travis, Blake, Carson and I will never forget you. We miss you so much and know that you’re looking down on us smiling and watching over us. Especially our boys and that brings us comfort.

It took me awhile to think of one but I remember the last time I spent time with you, which was a few years ago now but we came down there for some holiday. Since we all didn't see each other too much sometimes it was hard to get a conversation going. I remember you asked me how school was going for me and that just really made my day. About a month ago I found a video of one of your guys baseball games that I went to when I was down there, and that was back when it was you, matt and travis playing. That brought back alot of good memories and looked like you were having a good time! :)

I heard this song that Alan Jackson sings and it immediatly made me think of you,Scott. Everytime I hear it I get tears in my eyes... I changed it a little to fit what it means to me and for others too but didn't change it that much. He flew up to Heaven on the wings of angels...smiling saying Don't worry 'bout me... Why did he have to go So young I just don't know why Things happen half the time Without reason without rhyme Lovely, sweet young man Son, friend and brother Makes no sense to me I just have to believe He flew up to Heaven on the wings of angels By the clouds and stars and passed where no one sees And he walks with Jesus and his loved ones waiting And I know he's smiling saying Don't worry 'bout me Loved ones he left behind Just trying to survive And understand the why Feeling so lost inside Anger shot straight at God Then asking for His love Empty with disbelief Just hoping that maybe He flew up to Heaven on the wings of angels By the clouds and stars and passed where no one sees And he walks with Jesus and his loved ones waiting And I know he's smiling saying Don't worry 'bout me It's hard to say goodbye His picture in my mind They'll always be of times I'll cherish And I won't cry 'cause He flew up to Heaven on the wings of angels By the clouds and stars and passed where no one sees And he walks with jesus and his loved ones waiting And I know he's smiling saying Don't worry 'bout me Don't worry 'bout me Don't worry 'bout me As the days go by its a lil easier to cope, some days harder than others but There isn't one day that passes that you and your family doesn't go thru my mind. I miss you dearly! For the first time in my life I know I don't need to worry bout you because your up in heaven. Thats what helps me get thru each day.. I know you are in a much better place and smiling and saying Don't worry 'bout me.... Love, Mande

There are so many memories I have of Scott, but the ones that are closest to my heart are the ones when the kids were little. Just one of my favorite memories was when Scott was a little boy, the movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was a big hit. Ninja Turtles that live in the sewers fighting crime. Scott suggested that we go looking for them. So the kids and I went searching for the turtles, crawling on all fours through the sewers for what seemed to be forever. We never found any Ninja Turtles, but did we have a blast. Even though this happened 20 years ago, the memories are as fresh as if it happened yesterday.

A month ago today I lost my little brother. It still sometimes seems like it's still not real. There's not a day that doesn't go by that I don't think about him. The silly things he did, the way he could make my boys smile and the way he loved life. Scott was such a good uncle to his three nephews. If you ask my boys about uncle Scott the one thing they will both tell you is about the time they went to the airport to pick up grandma and grandma woods. Scott and I took the boys to pick grandma and grandpa up and of course their flight was late. So we ended up being in the airport for hours. The boys were getting hungry and wanting a $7 bag of chips. I of course didn't want to buy chips and thought they would be fine. Once they had a no from me they started working on Scott. Uncle Scott were hungry is what they said. I'll never forget Scott looking at my two boys and saying, "well good thing I brought snacks then." Scott pulled 6 fruit snacks out of his pockets. He always had some type of snack for them no matter when or where we were at. Blake will also tell you that he loved going to uncle Scott's place in St. Joe so they could eat popsicles together. I have one more memory I have to share and this one is for my parents......... this is one of their favorites. A couple of years ago we took a family cruise. We arrived in Houston a day early incase our flight would of been delayed or something. Once we got to Houston our hotel was next to this "real" Mexican restaurant. Scott was really excited about eating there because he loved wondering what his next meal would be. He loved his food. Anyway we are eating at this place and he asks the waitress if she has any hot salsa. There was a little language barrier and after he does signals to show her what he wants his salsa to taste like she says ok and leaves. She was gone for a really long time and when she finally came back she had his salsa. Scott dipped his chip into the salsa, puts it in his mouth and said, "oh my god, she warmed it up. She put it in the microwave." We all laughed and laughed. It was so funny. I will miss making those memories with Scott but I know that he is up in heaven smiling down and watching over us. I love you Scott! Love your Big Sister

I'm thinking about Scott today and Dave, Tam, Beth and Matt...it's hard to believe that 4 weeks have already gone by. I am passing along a poem that I found after my mom got killed. It makes me think of innocence and if things could just be that easy... If Tears Could Build A Stairway If tears could build a stairway And memories were a lane We would walk right up to Heaven And bring you back again No farewell words were spoken No time to say goodbye You were gone before we knew it And only God knows why Our hearts still ache in sadness And secret tears still flow What it meant to lose you No on will ever know But know we know you want us To mourn for you no more To remember all the happy times Life still has much in store Since you’ll never be forgotten We pledge to you today A hallowed place within our hearts Is where you’ll always stay Author Unknown I'm remembering Scott's smile today and his very sweet way...

With the weather changing and softabll games getting ready to start in a couple of weeks it made me think of one of the last times I got to see Scott which was around a year ago at a softball game of his he asked me to come out to and watch. It was so much fun watching him, Matt and everyone else play. Everytime he came up to bat I would have me, Natasha and Cailtin yell "Go Scooter" really loud. Everytime we cherred him on he would get a really embarassed look on his face but he still had that giddy smile. Scooter,Just your smile could make a room full of people smile. You are in my thoughts each and every day and loved and missed by so so many.

I didn't know you as well as I would have liked, sadly to say, but it breaks my heart that you left before your time! You were such a kind soul and so full of life!! I can remember being at Thanksgiving and Christmas and feeling nervous being a new part of the Engler Crew and you made me feel so comfortable and right at home. You always acted like I'd been there for years. It was so sweet and kind. Me and Bobby will miss you terribly, but I am glad your with the Big Guy now. I imagine you there with special people I've lost along the way and they are showing you the ropes. :) Especailly my Papaw. That thought gives me peace! We love you!

Scott and my son were best friends for quite a while. There are so many memories that it's hard to find just one. Where they got the suction cup dart guns I have no idea, but they had "search and destroy" missions throughout the house with those guns. You never wanted to be in the way of the stampede. They finally graduated to pooling their money and buying a BB gun. They would take to the railroad tracks and shoot cans. (it was easier on the house) And of course I'll never forget the cruise we took in 2004. Scott's hand was bummed up with stitches, but he went with us anyway. The boys had a blast and although Scott couldn't do the excursions in water, he never complained and it was a great week. He may have left too soon, but he touched alot of people and he'll be with everyone in memories.

There are soooo many hilarious memories of Scott its hard just to pick one. If I had to choose one it would be the night in the Bishop basement (which we all know was the party central of Lee's Summit and Scott's second home) we were enjoying some beers as we usually did. Well to make a long story short at the end of the night Scott and Biggs(ryan's brother) decided they were going to go to Wal-Mart to get a vidoe game. Which probably wasn't the best idea since we all had been drinking, Ryan and I decided to stay home and pass out. We were woken up by the two of them playing cowboys, I'm talking they had the hats, guns(with fake ammo), and scarfs to go around their faces they came running down the stairs to show us their new toys and wanted us to play!LOL It was just hilarious to see two older teenage boys get so happy about a toy that was probably for a five year old. This was their entertainment for days until they ran out of ammo, then they used the guns to hit each other with. I think Biggs might still have his gun to this day! The next morning I took a picture of Scott sitting up on the couch with his hat pulled down over his face and his gun across his chest. I looked all over and I cannot find it, if I do I will post it so everyone can see why that moment was by favorite memory of him. We will miss you forever Scott, and we love you so much!!

When we were younger, I mean around the 8-9 year old mark my dad got a new treadmill. We brought it home and once it was set up Scott, Matt and I all took turns running on it. I remember Scott getting on the treadmill and his blonde hair bouncy. He was always competitive so he continued to run for what seemed to be longer then Matt and I. During his run he decides that he’s hot and he’s going to take his shirt off. Now remember were all standing together watching him run. He pulls his shirt over his head and the next thing we know is he flies off the back of the treadmill with his shirt still stuck over his head. LOL!

what I will always remember is the way Scott got right in there to play with the kids...whether it was jumping on the trampoline or rolling around on the floor, he was a big kid at heart and could always make them giggle...I think he got that from Dave :o)

Well I have so many memories that I will treasure forever that I shared with Scooter since i was a freshman in high school all the way up to about a year ago.I spent so many nights hanging out with him at all different friends houses,The Cliffs ( he loved jumping off of them), Swimming at Lido Dock, Bonfires and lots of parties. Scott and I liked to play jokes on eachother alot so.. when Scott and I were dating, he loved Britney Spears. One day I went and got him a poster of Britney Spears and I signed it and gave it to him and told him that we waited in line forever to get the autograph. When I gave it to him he got the biggest grin on his face and was so excited. That same day he went and put it up in his room. About a week later I felt bad because he truly thought Britney Spears signed it for him and was bragging about it so I finally decided it was time to tell him that Britney Spears didn't sign it that I did. He started cracking up and said I will get you back and I am still telling everyone Britney Spears signed it and still keeping it up on my room. It was a joke between us for years to come. Scooter showing off... when we first started talking and he picked me up in his lovely probe and we went to Adam Brewbakers. A group of us were hanging out there and some of the guys were skate boarding and doing really cool things so Scooter decide he would try and impress me. He got on the skate board managed to go a few feet then went over the curb and out into the street and promptly landed on his butt. It was a hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing.. I went over and said are you okay babe and he was laughing too but had the most embarassed look on his face but still managed to be smiling and said yes. Where ever Scooter was there was never a dull moment . My Birthday.. I knew with Scooter we would be doing something interesting and probably something we weren't supposed to. So Josh Jones, Scott, and a group of us all decided we were going to skip the football game and Scott had an idea to go out to longview where longview farms school is now ( which was an open corn feild with the abandon barn there at the time) and hang out there. We parked about a mile away and walked thru the corn feild which was higher than me. .Scott had to put me on his sholders to walk thru it because I was so short and the corn feild came about to his sholders. Finally we got to this gigantic tree and he made me climb up it but I wouldn't go up as high as Scott did. We chilled in the tree and drank a lil then getting down wasn't so easy,Scott was too scared to get down because he was so high.and of course he was finding humor in the situation. Finally after many humerous attempts to get down he made it down and we were all cracking up. Lovable Side of Scooter..Some of my absolute fav memories though were about five 1/2 years ago when Scott and I spent many nights hanging out snuggled on the couch having long indepth talks about life and stuff and watching movies and just chillin in his parents basement. I miss you like crazy! You will ALWAYS hold a very special place in my heart.

Oh boy, I have so many since i just lived down the street. I remember what Sarah was talking about and how bad his farts smelled. Him fighting with Beth and Matt. Always laughing and up to something. He will be sadly missed but well taken care of up there and saving you a seat when you meet him again many many years from now. love you

I told her about this one and she wanted me to add it on. So........ My memory of Scott is how he used to fart and smell his own farts and waft them in his own face and giggle. I, of course was like ewwwww your nasty...but he thought it was hillarious.

I don't remember Scott very well, I was good friends with his sister beth for a few years when living in Lee's Summit. All I can remember though is that he was always full of energy and life and would do anything he could to drive us crazy! I know you will be greatly missed by your family and close friends. My prayers and condolences to Scotts family on their loss. We will all see you again some day Scott. Until then rest in peace!

I have two favorite memories of Scott. My first one is..... The first time I met Beth, Travis, and the boys. I was on my way home from work. (Price Chopper) and had to pick him up at Beth and Travis's on my way. He calls me about half way and says he wants me to come inside and meet them. I'm wearing a tie, apron and all my price chopper getup and look like a complete dork and tell him no that I look a mess and will meet them another day. He insists and insists so I give in. When I get there I go inside and he has this big embarrassed grin on his face and rushes the whole meeting. Then litterally pushes me into the kitchen and there are a dozen roses and a teddy bear and card on the counter. This is one of my favorite memorys because I will never ever forget the look on his face when I turned around, bright red and so embarrassed. My second favorite memory of Scott.... is when we decided on a whim that we wanted a puppy....a beagle puppy. We searched the papers and found a man about an hour away and drove all the way there. There were only two puppies left, a male and a female. The female was really calm and sweet and the male was sooo hyper. We of course decided to get the female. He named her Summer Elizabeth Engler (seriously this is still her registered name to this day). She ended up being the biggest pain in the ass ever, and we always joked that we should have went with the male. In her puppy days she ate charcoal with lighter fluid on it, a whole bottle of baby lotion, rat poisoning, and she kept us up all hours of the night. When we broke up, he wanted visitation rights...lol I have many memories of Scott but those are probably my favorite two.

When Scott and I were together the Toby Keith "I wanna talk about me" song was really popular. The song talks about always having to listen to your girlfriend talk about themselves and Scott felt like he had to listen to me talk A LOT (which he did), so every time the song came on he turned it up and sang it to me at the top of his lungs. I still laugh when that song comes on the radio. Lauren

One day during the summer my mom had fixed lunch for my brothers, my friend and I. Scott being the funny guy that he was thought it would be a good idea to get our hand held vacuum cleaner, turn it on and put it to my head while saying, "Wayne's World, Wayne's World." The Vacuum sucked to my head and was attached to my scalp. It took my mom hours to untangle the vacuum from my head. Thankfully we didn't have to cut my hair. :)
