I remember Mr Shiga when my family lived in Terrey Hills in the 1960's and 70's and he rented one of my father's disused chicken sheds to make his pottery. He built a kiln in the shed and used to make beautiful pottery. When Mum and I used to visit him to have a look at his work he always said to take whatever seconds we wanted but we didn't like to be greedy so just took a few pieces. I still have a lovely set of six bowls which I use mostly for soup. Mr Shiga was a lovely man who will be missed by family and friends. Regards, Jan Harkins (nee Griffiths
