Looking back on my youth ,can testify one of the best human beings I ever met .
A pleasure to be with. He truly loved the game of cricket. I will miss him at the SCG Test. He was a stalwart of cricket in Newcastle. Also with Matcham-Holgate on the Central Coast. A very happy man.

Warner Smith. A great entertainer in conversation.I last sat with Sonny at a GPS Dinner after he said come and sit here.It was entertaining and spoke of his memories of his cricket days. And days at boarding school. Sonny always showed an interest in ones welfare and his words were full of Wisdom. Thankyou Sonny for your friendship you will be missed by many. Warner Smith
Deepest sympathy to Judy and family on the passing of our dear friend Sonny. He was a distinguished member of Fiabci Australia for many years and his contribution at the time was well recognised and much appreciated. He sang and laughed with Fiabci friends in the best piano bars in the world.
A man who lived cricket for the game it is. He played it hard, with pride, with passion and with the utmost respect for all players both his own and opposition. He was genuine in his apology to a bowler when he dropped a catch and equally as sincere in his apology to a batsman when he took one. Thank you Sonny for your friendship. Ross McKim MDCC 1976 - 1990
