I knew Steve as a close friend for many years. I will miss our many conversations on scouting, high adventure, the Explorers Club, and so much more. One of the kindest people I've ever known. He never had a bad word about anyone and gave no time to negativity. One of the most positive thinking people I ever had the priveledge to be with. Until The Next Event Steve!

If I can live my live as well and do half of the things Steve Fosset did I will consider it a life well lived. So long MR Fosset this world needs more men like you in it and will be a little emptier without you.

I raced the Baja 1000 in Mexico with Steve and we were in the hunt for first place, but had a problem. We finished the race and had a nice meal and a lot ob bench race talk afterwards. , I found Steve to be a quite but genuine man and when he said something he meant it. He was a very nice man and very amenable with everyone he had contact with. He was a very unsuspecting individual. You would have never guessed he was such a thrill seeker with so many varied adventurous accomplishments to his name. He always had a smile, was really good at crossing every T and putting the dots where needed before he attempted things. I am proud to have known him and so fortunate to have raced with him.We stayed in touch over the years through email phone calls and he said he may attempt a win at the Baja 1000 again. I was crushed to hear of his accident and know the world had a glimpse at a real honest to goodness adventurer of our times. A incredible man to say the least. My heart goes out to his wife Peggy, family and friends. I truly have fond memories and will cherish them forever. God Bless you Steve. Sincerely, Rick Scalzo, SJC Ca.

No, I never got to meet the man, but I alway admired him. Not only did he dream, he made them come true. I would watch him as he told of his latest adventure and I always was proud of the man I saw in him. He stood head and shoulder above so many others. I will miss him. May God bless his family.

I don't think there is anyone who swam the English Channel, circled the world in a ballon, circled the world in a airplaine non stop, participated in the famous Alaskan dog race, climbed mountains, etc. I traded with Steve at the CBOE and he was a honorable person.
