My name is Bill Davies and I am the youngest son of Hazel and Jack (both now dec.) Hazel's brother Will has always been held in the highest regard and much loved in our family. My early recollections of Uncle Will involve him visiting our house in Northcote. A bed was set up in the lounge and I would go in and wake him in the morning! We would sit together at the breakfast table and I clearly remember him encouraging me to eat porridge when nobody else could. Apparently, I was to be named after Uncle Will but Mum was told not to call me Wilfred as her brother thought I would have to learn how to defend myself too early in life! They decided on a variation of his nickname instead. Though I have not had a lot of contact with Uncle Will over the years, he has been a significant role model in our family and will be sadly missed. Bill (and Judith) Davies.
