I cast Willie as Stephano in Ramsey Jr. High's version of The Tempest. He was a natural and needed little direction and brought the part to life. He was also a great student to teach. He really picked up on what I was trying to get across and I felt like he was discovering gifts he didn't know he had. It was a special time and he was a special student. I'm so sad about this loss to all of us. My deepest sympathies to his mom and his brother.

I sat next to him often in Shakespeare -- was always impressed by his brilliance, and charmed by his unique personality. This is such a tragedy, my heart goes out to his mother and all his family and friends.

I didn't know him, but my daughter is a freshman at IC. I was so hoping and praying that he would be found safe and sound. It's a parent's, friend's, family's worst nightmare to have to lose someone at all, let alone it be at such a young, promising age. My heart goes out to "Willie's" family and friends. when i read about young deaths, i am certainly filled with sadness and grief. i wish the best for his family, friends and the students at his school during this difficult time.
