A very good tutor who sat in on my consultations.. a good man, a good doctor , and I learned a lot from his teaching. Only learned today of his passing!

I had the great privilege of being a GP registrar at Jeremy and Kath's Ultimo practice in 1998. Jeremy was a natural teacher, and infused his trainees with with his keen sense of social awareness, compassion and patient-centredness. He got to know our families, and opened up his own home to us, even after we had moved on to other posts It has been over a decade since I finished my GP training, and I have now moved countries and work in an academic setting. Over the years, I have often reflected back on the 6 months I spent with Jeremy, and more than ever, now realise how fortunate I was to have him as my first professional mentor. He truly was an exemplary role model for a whole generation of young GPs-to-be. Although he died over a year ago, I only found out today after reading his MJA obiturary that he had been ill. I regret now that I hadn't been in contact with him earlier to let him know what I was up to, and my appreciation for his contribution to shaping my career.

I was a very good friend of Jeremy in primary school at Clemton Park Primary School from 1967 to 1969. I was greatly saddened to read of Jeremy's death in the Herald today. Although it is a very long time ago, I still have very strong and fond memories of my friendship with Jeremy way back then. I remember him often leading us in spontaneous, random song. I remember how smart he was and I remember working with him on the BUG newspaper at Clemton Park Primary (his brainchild and energy of course!). When he moved to Epping we lost touch. I just wanted to let your family know that Jeremy was a great and loyal friend even as a primary school child. I am not surprised that he went on to have such a wonderful influence in the world. I was so shocked and saddened to read of Jeremy's death. I was as a patient at Ultimo and on occassion saw Jeremy socially. He was caring, sincere and a very fine doctor but also very funny and witty. I was enlightened to read about his post Ultimo work -- as a person, a medical practitioner and an educator he will be missed.

I often saw Jeremy as a patient at Ultimo - his kindness sympathy and gentleness was in contrast to some other doctors I have had the bad luck to come across. Such a loss to the world.

Saw obituary in the SMH this morning. Was shocked and saddened. I was his patient at Ultomo for a number of years. He was a terrific GP, spot on with diagnoses in my case. He sent me for a PSA as early as 1993. I was subsequently diagnosed with PCa, and after surgery I appear to have been cured. Rest is Peace, Jeremy.

Jeremy and i went to Clempton Park Primary School together. i have never forgotten how kind, funny and well liked jeremy was by his peers. He so impressed me as a person that he stuck with me forever - so much so that when i had my own son i named him jeremy. i was so saddened to hear of the passing of such a beautiful person.
